These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of NounStudy (the "Service"), an AI-powered educational platform designed specifically for students of the National Open University of Nigeria ("NOUN"). NounStudy is operated by NounStudy ("we," "us," or "our"), registered and operating under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
NounStudy provides its services through two primary platforms: a mobile application that offers full access to all features and study materials, and a web platform limited to account management functions. By accessing or using either platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you may not access the Service.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes via email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
NounStudy operates through two distinct components, each serving specific purposes. The Mobile Application provides comprehensive access to NounStudy's core features, including AI-enhanced study materials, practice tests, mock examinations, and performance analytics. This is your primary platform for accessing all study-related features and content.
The Web Platform serves exclusively for account and subscription management purposes. Users can create accounts, manage login credentials, and handle subscription-related matters through the web platform. However, study materials and core educational features are not accessible through the web platform.
While NounStudy uses NOUN's publicly available course materials as a reference, our platform provides unique, AI-enhanced study tools and features that are separate from and supplementary to NOUN's official resources. Our proprietary content and features are designed to enhance your study experience but are not affiliated with or endorsed by NOUN.
To use NounStudy, you must be a registered student of the National Open University of Nigeria, be at least 16 years old, and provide accurate and complete registration information. During registration, you must select your NOUN programme of study, which becomes permanently associated with your account and determines your access to specific course materials.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials across both the web platform and mobile application. This includes ensuring that you log out of both platforms when using shared devices and immediately notifying us of any unauthorized use of your account. Your account credentials will work across both platforms, but remember that study materials and core features are only accessible through the mobile application.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, provide false information, engage in unauthorized sharing of content, participate in exam malpractice or academic dishonesty, or fail to pay applicable fees.
NounStudy is committed to maintaining high standards of academic integrity. The Service must be used solely for legitimate study purposes and in compliance with NOUN's academic policies. Users are strictly prohibited from using NounStudy materials during official NOUN examinations or engaging in any form of examination malpractice.
You may use the Service for personal study and exam preparation, accessing AI-enhanced study materials, and taking practice tests. However, you may not share your account access with others, redistribute NounStudy's proprietary materials, or create derivative works from our content. All use must comply with NOUN's academic policies and Nigerian education laws.
Our intellectual property framework distinguishes between NOUN's original course materials and NounStudy's proprietary content. Original course materials remain the intellectual property of the National Open University of Nigeria and are publicly available through NOUN's official channels. Students' rights to use these materials are governed by NOUN's policies.
NounStudy's proprietary content, including AI-generated summaries, study aids, practice tests, mock examinations, performance analytics, and platform interface elements, is protected by Nigerian intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to access our proprietary content through the mobile application for personal study purposes only.
Any content you submit to the platform remains your property, but you grant us rights to use it for service improvement. You may not redistribute, sell, or create derivative works from NounStudy's proprietary content, and you may not transfer your NounStudy license to others.
NounStudy values your privacy. Your data will be handled according to our Privacy Policy. By using the platform, you consent to the collection and use of your data as outlined in the policy.
All subscription fees are displayed in Nigerian Naira (NGN), and we reserve the right to modify pricing with notice to our users. Payments are processed securely through PayStack, and users must provide accurate billing information.
Refunds are available only in specific circumstances, such as technical issues preventing service access, when required by Nigerian law, or at our discretion for exceptional circumstances. Users may cancel their subscriptions at any time, but no refunds will be provided for partial subscription periods. Access to the Service continues until the end of the paid period.
These Terms remain in effect throughout your use of the Service. We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service for Terms violations, academic dishonesty, non-payment, or at our discretion with notice. Upon termination, your access rights cease immediately, and you must stop using the Service. No refunds will be provided upon termination.
Certain provisions of these Terms survive termination, including intellectual property rights, liability limitations, dispute resolution terms, and confidentiality obligations.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes will be resolved first through informal negotiation, and if necessary, through the Nigerian courts in Lagos State jurisdiction. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remainder will stay in effect, and the provision will be modified to be enforceable while preserving its intent.
